Born and bred in Kendal, Roger graduated in 1974 with an Honours Degree in Law. Articles in Hyde, Chesire preceded his move to Whitehaven in 1979, when he joined Bleasdale & Co.

He started his career in Law, specialising in Conveyancing and Probate.

In the early 1990’s Roger moved to the firm’s Personal Injury Department and over the years has obtained compensation payments for accident victims amounting to several hundred thousand pounds. He prides himself in offering a friendly, down-to-earth service combined with the knowledge and expertise that ensure his clients do not have to wait too long for their claims to be settled.

Roger also advises on all aspects of Employment law. His specialist advice includes preparing or advising on contracts of employment, advice on discrimination, the Working Time Regulations and redundancy. Roger has also represented many employers and employees in connection with dismissal claims in the Employment Tribunal.

Roger also heads our Civil Litigation Department representing both Claimants and Defendants in the County Court. He has advised on matters as diverse as claims on behalf of people affected by the rules of Intestacy under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, damages/injunction proceedings for breaches of restrictive covenants, boundary and property disputes and Landlord and Tenant matters.

In his spare time Roger is actively involved in the amateur theatre. He is a Trustee of Rosehill Theatre and founder member and Chairman of its Rosehill Players. Despite no longer being actively involved in Sport, Roger is an avid supporter of Aston Villa and Lancashire County Cricket Club.
